SALES POLICY

By purchasing a rabbit from us, you agree to all the terms of this Sales Policy, whether you have read it or not. Please read it thoroughly, and feel free to contact me with any questions!

Reserving Your Rabbit

A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a rabbit until she or he is ready to go. For Teddywidders, this is a flat fee of $200; for Lionheads, it's 50% of the adoption fee. The remaining balance will be due at time of pick up.

To be considered for adoption from us, you MUST first fill out our Adoption Application. Only once this has been received and approved will you be eligible to place a deposit and reserve a rabbit.

Soon after a litter is born, we announce reservation date(s) and time(s) both here on our website, and on our Instagram. We can't predict or guarantee how many kits will be born in a litter, their colors, their genders, or whether we'll allow them to go up for adoption. (Because I keep a steady cycle of retiring and replacing our breeding parents, I reserve the right to hold back any rabbits from any litters to keep things sustainable.)

At the reservation date/time, we accept deposits to fill out an adoption queue in first come first serve order. First deposit received gets first pick in the litter, then second deposit received, and down the list. Remember, you must have first filled out an Adoption Application and heard back from us that it's been approved in order to be eligible to place a deposit and reserve a rabbit.

Your deposit at this stage is NON-REFUNDABLE. While I can occasionally allow you to hold your spot for a future litter, a choice on your part to back out of the adoption process after having paid a deposit usually means forfeiting your deposit. This is not about greed; it's about improving the quality of homes and thoughtfulness of the owners our bunnies go to live with.

And, for legal purposes, I reserve the right to refuse sale to any person for any or no reason.

Picking Up Your Rabbit

After submitting your Adoption Application, I'll reach out to discuss pick up and/or transport options. We will not accept deposits on rabbits needing to be transported until transport logistics have been identified.

Generally speaking, pick up dates must be scheduled within 7 days of weaning (between 8-10 weeks of age). Unless we've agreed on another time frame due to extenuating circumstances, if you are either unwilling or unable to pick up your rabbit within that timeframe, or you miss or no-show at our agreed upon pick up, your rabbit will be placed back up for sale. Deposits will not be refunded; the funds will go to the care, feeding, and housing of the rabbit that was not picked up.

You as the buyer have the ultimate responsibility for planning and coordinating the transport and pick-up of your rabbit. However, I do what I can to help make that as easy and safe — both for you and the rabbit — as possible:

If you live near or are willing to travel to the Portland, OR area, I can arrange an in-person pick-up in or near Tualatin, OR most days (in between kids' school pick ups).

For pick ups in Washington State, I try to schedule at least one window per litter for in-person pick ups along I-5 between Vancouver, WA and Lynnwood, WA at no extra charge. While I can't always guarantee this, please ask if this would make pick up easier for you.

For summer pick ups between Portland, OR and Salt Lake City, UT, I can sometimes accommodate in-person pick-ups along I-84 (or along I-15 in the Salt Lake area). This is not guaranteed, and may mean waiting longer to get your bunny, but if I'm already traveling that route, I'm happy to meet you along it to save you $300-900 in transport fees.

For in-person pick ups along these WA or OR-UT routes, I can also occasionally detour off I-5 / I-84 / I-15 (5-20 miles), but often this is with kids in the car so I charge a $20 delivery fee.

Any other pick-ups in any other locations need to be coordinated through a third party transport service. I do have favorite ground and flight transport providers, and am happy to share those with you, or just give my advice on how to find a trustworthy alternative. Transport over long distances, especially along with lots of other animals, can present risks to the health of your rabbit. (I say this because I have to). That said, flight transport, while more expensive, does present far fewer risks than ground transport. I've found a flight nanny based here in Portland that I am obsessed with — happy to connect you, and yes she can fly to most anywhere in the U.S. I do charge a $20 airport fee to deliver rabbits to PDX airport.

We have a closed rabbitry, which means I do not allow anyone into the rabbitry for the safety and health of my rabbits.

Payment

For electronic payment, I prefer Venmo, but I also know PayPal can be easier for those in Canada/Mexico. (I'll share those details after your Adoption Application is approved.

Deposits must be paid electronically.

Balances at pick-up time (and any additional detour fees, if applicable) can be paid in cash (preferred) or electronically, but must be transferred completely before handing over your rabbit — either to you or your transporter.

I do not handle or coordinate payments to/for your transporter.

Returns and Refunds

Please see the health guarantee.

If you cannot keep your rabbit at any point in time for any reason, we ask that you please contact us first. We will assist in finding a new home, and if we are unable to do so, we will take them back.

Quality

When we sell a rabbit, it will be advertised as either show, brood, or pet quality. Pet quality rabbits will not be sold with a pedigree and are not to be bred.

We cannot guarantee a rabbit will remain show quality, place highly in shows, or retain mane. Mane retention and quality have to do with many factors which are out of our control once the rabbit leaves our herd.

All rabbits are from fully pedigreed lines. Pedigrees will only be given if the buyer requests, and only at my discretion. I will not provide pedigrees for bunnies that were sold previously without one.

All European Teddywidders will be sold as pet only with an agreement to spay/neuter at this time.

I cannot guarantee personality of a rabbit.

Health Guarantee

We will never knowingly sell a rabbit with an illness or defect. Health is extremely important to us, as is the satisfaction of our bunny owners. It is the responsibility of the buyer to inspect the rabbit at the time of sale. If you notice signs of illness within 24 hours of owning your bunny, we will gladly refund your money or offer a replacement of equal value upon return of the rabbit.

If the unfortunate event occurs that your new bunny passes away due to genetic or health reasons within the first 24 hours, we will issue a refund or replacement (if available).  This does not include accidents (e.g. dog attack, falling down stairs, etc.) or anything that is not a health condition the rabbit left our home with. We may chose to have an autopsy performed; this refund is subject to the procedure to confirm that the rabbit indeed passed due to genetic defects or an illness that the rabbit carried upon leaving our care. Any other incidence will not warrant a refund.

We cannot guarantee health for long once they leave our home, as we do not have any control over what they are exposed to or how they are cared for. We will do everything in our power to screen and educate homes so no unforeseen circumstances occur.

*Health guarantee is void for any rabbit that has been transported by 3rd party. Transport at your own risk.*
